Video: Safety - US Navy Style Posted: 05 Apr 2012 09:00 AM PDT As you may know, many of the armed forces personnel ride motorcycles, and many die on the road. All the branches of the military are trying to do something about it, and most have released safety videos for their men & women to see. The US Navy is no exception, and this safety video highlights the ATGATT principle. Of course, it wouldn't be military if there weren't any acronyms. Obviously we know ATGATT, but PPE is new to me. This stands for Personal Protective Equipment.... You'll be glad to know that the Navy has not used up much of your tax dollars to make the video, but then, if you want to get a message across, you don't need to hire Spielberg to make the video. More and more countries want their bikers to be visible on the road when they ride their motorcycles. Whether this is good or bad is another debate. LumiGram, a company specialized in making all sorts of objects that glow in the dark (from tables to dresses), now have this glowing safety vest. It's battery operated, and it will make sure you are seen, day or night. In fact, I'd say that it might provoke an adverse reaction of cagers, that of target fixation. Where To Store Your Earbuds? In Your Ears? Posted: 04 Apr 2012 09:00 AM PDT Many of us bikers use earbuds or ear plugs to prevent us from going deaf on our motorcycle, or just to listen to music when riding. I myself have a nice, custom-made, earphone that gets inserted in my ears, and connected into my iPod. But the problem is when you're finished with them. Some of these earbuds arrive with a small pouch to store them, but the problem is the wire. It always gets tangled, and before you go on your next ride, you need to untangle them. It's all about electric cars and motorcycles, and it is hosted by the beautiful Alexandra Paul (remember her from Baywatch?). In this episode the subject is Fabio, one of the big name male models. Fabio has a collection of 100's of motorcycles (and cars), equal to that of Jay Leno, and in this documetnary episode, he talks to us about electric cars and motorcycles. Belgium: Massive Motorcycle Protest Organized For 28 April Posted: 03 Apr 2012 11:00 PM PDT Motorcycle riders are not happy, and they should be happy. More and more countries are making our lives impossible, piling up regulations, repressing us on the roads, and in general make our lives miserable. Throw on top of that a bunch of technocrats in Brussels who can think of nothing better to do then make strange and often stupid laws for all of Europe, and you get anarchy. France is known for its motorcycle protests, but now it's its neighbor, Belgium, who is taking to the roads. The Belgium Association of Angry Bikers (FBMC), with help of the French FFMC, is planning an all-out motorcycle protest ride on April 28th. Anywhere in the world, you'll see them ... often brutal, usually shocking. Their main strategy is to shock you into thinking about safety, either as a car driver, but more often as a motorcycle rider. But it doesn't need to be so. Carma in Australia are several companies and institutions that promote road safety. They have amongst others produced this motorcycle safety TV advertisement. It's a positive one. No accidents, no motorcycles or human beings were hurt. It's nice to see a positive safety campaign for once. ...

The Clandestine is a Northern Irish web series that might well make it to the TV. You see the first episode below. The series is a well done, professionally recorded and edited, with a good script, comedy about a bunch of businessmen, who during the day, dressed in their suites and ties, run a boring business life, and in the evening become a 1%-er motorcycle gang called the Clandestine. It's the Sons of Anarchy meet The Office. The idea is currently running at Kickstarter (a website that helps get funding for any type of project), and the producers are looking for money to finish this year's episodes. The idea is that you can help pitch in some money. They have a goal of reaching US$25,000, and if the goal is not met, you'll not have to pay a dime. When you pledge (you can pledge anything starting at $1), you leave your credit card details. Once the pledge amount is reached, your money goes to the project.
