I decided to have a look at what the same motorcycle model costs around the world. It is not an easy exercise since most motorcycle manufacturer's web sites do not list prices, and if they do, often they do not sell the same model, or list prices in some countries but not in others. I noticed that Harley-Davidson was the most consistent (but not always), so I looked at the base price for Harley Forty-Eight Sportster motorcycle.
